About The Asperger Spirit a Non-profit organization.

Thank you for visiting and wanting to learn more about The Asperger Spirit a non-profit organization. Take a look below to see more about our mission to assist those with Asperger’s reach their God given potential. We have also provided information on who the organization is and what we do. We also have resources available for those on the spectrum (and their family and friends) who would like to get more information on additional ways to navigate gaining services and assistance with purchasing services.

Our Organization provides funding for services to those who would not otherwise receive them. Adults (those 18 and over) with Asperger’s Syndrome often receive no governmental assistance, and when they do, the minimal amount received is barely enough to provide for their basic daily needs. There are a number of services that would help them become more sufficient, but they too are beyond the financial reach of most.

Our mission is to assist those with Asperger’s Disorder in reaching their God given potential, by enabling them to obtain comprehensive diagnostic tests, innovative treatment plans, individualized therapy services, and specialized support.

Here are some examples of services that would benefit a person with Aspergers and their average costs are listed below:

Occupational Therapy (to increase ones ability to tolerate sensory input from the environment, such as touch and sound) – $70 per hour, usual/customary limit, 40 visits. Can be up to $2800 or above, depending on individual response.

Speech/Language Therapy (to help develop ones skills in communicating with others in a socially acceptable manner)

Emotional Therapy  (primarily to decrease depression and anxiety) $400 for initial assessment and $150 for follow up sessions; Minimum of 10-20 sessions, but can be indefinite or on and off throughout ones lifetime, with a total ranging from $1,900-$3,400 or higher.

Personal Support Services (to assist an individual in managing the day to day tasks of living, such as learning to shop, plan and cook meals, schedule and keep appointments, medical and/or leisure, bank and any other task that one needs to do daily.)

Special Training (such as learning to ride public transportation, ride a bicycle or drive a car), $500 – $1,000 or more.

Although all of these services have been shown to improve the functioning of a person with Aspergers, most insurance companies do not reimburse the costs for adults or will not include the professional providers of the services as an in network provider causing the prices to escalate to unaffordable amounts.

Due to these insurance guidelines, ones eighteenth birthday brings services to an abrupt halt.

Many of the things that a neurotypical person (those without neurological challenges) may do automatically, those with Asperger’s Syndrome need special training to accomplish.
